Swarovski: create your style

Swarovski, a leading maker and seller of cut crystal, will conduct more than 30 workshops and seminars during its “Create your style with Swarovski” project. It is starting tomorrow at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.
Themes include

• demonstration of the production,
• directions for making and use,
• modern design tendency coverage.

Besides, Swarovski will exhibit pieces created by the winners of its 2005 design contest at the show, and announce the winners of its 2006 competition.

Swarovski company which is famous for making cut crystal and related luxury products was found at the end of 19th century. Daniel Swarovski, an Austrian businessman, created it with the aim to cut crystals automatically.

The firm was enormously successful and soon worked in numerous fields like the production of optical products,abrasives and grinding tools, the cutting of crystals and the manufacturing of decorative stones made from crystal. Those were mostly used for the jewelry and fashion industries, as chandelier parts, as accessories and as beads and ornaments for attire and jewelry.

Swarovski’s necklaces, pins and earrings are popular worldwide. Swarovski’s crystal beads are also used to adorn dresses, shoes and handbags. By this they have entered the realm of haute-couture, James Bond movies, Hollywood celebs and Oscar night fashion talk.

The Swarovski Crystal Society (SCS) connects people from all cultures who share a passion for Swarovski crystal. Founded in 1987, the SCS has more than 430,000 members worldwide and is represented in more than 30 countries.
