The UK 3G operator SeeMeTV has launched a new service called PixMeTV. It should be mentioned that porn at last came to the mobile web. PixMeTV allows users to shoot their own home porn and upload it to the web in order for others to watch and download. The author get a share of the revenue. PixMeTV director Ed Baker claimed he wanted to turn ‘Generation X into Generation XXX.‘

According to the story, contributors will get around 20 cents from each clip of theirs sold, which will retail at a per clip rate of about $1.40.
The only surprising thing is that it has taken so long for the business like this to emerge in the industry. The PixMeTV example may, however, bring the model into a mainstream. Yet there is at least one more question: how will the operators connect porn with their services. To my mind none will do it directly, but, of course, some will like the data revenue from mobile uploads.
