LG CU400 Review

New LG CU400 clamshell phone combines Push To Talk with basic 3G data in a clamshell form factor. Extra features include Bluetooth, a VGA camera, speakerphone, quad-band GSM for roaming, multi-tasking, and over-the-air software updates.

The LG CU400 is an attractive 3G/UMTS-capable phone with a great-looking display and excellent sound quality.

With the built-in VGA camera, consumers can capture pictures or videos of family and friends. Running on Cingular’s high-speed UMTS network, CU400 users can entertain themself by downloading video clips with Cingular Video, playing the hottest games, and accessing the latest applications.

With presets for AIM, MSN and Yahoo instant messaging and e-mail accounts, the LG CU400 makes for a capable messaging phone. The comfortable, nearly flat keypad has rows that curve slightly, making typing easy. The phone features a dedicated key for SMS messaging and another to IM, mapped with an icon printed on the four-way button. SMS messages displayed a healthy 162 characters, more than a full message worth.
