Working Methods of Mobile Advertising

Mobile advertising deliever high click-rates and conversion. Mike Biker, CEO of Enpocket, has the data to prove the fact. He claims that mobile click-through rates average 2-6%. But that is the average rates, some are much higher. For example one large import auto manufacturer’s program, currently running on the Sprint Mobile Media Network, gets about 8% range.

But why are the response rates so high? Because the advertisers eventually come to the understanding that molbile ads are a lot more that text or graphics: it is delievering users a call to action (through text and banners). Another reason for high response rates is “send to a friend” features and location-aware applications.

Baker gives a check-list for companies gearing up to engage in mobile advertising. The features that are likely to engage and involve users are:

  • click to call
  • click for a coupon
  • click to subscribe
  • click to locate
  • click to win
  • click to download

Another advice by Baker: as the message and the medium must match, mobile advertisement must be active (according to the active nature of mobile industry).
