VoIP Service: A Cheap Way to Make Phone Calls

Today mobile Internet is mostly associated with e-mail, surfing the web, sending/receiving images e.t.c. But there is a revolutionary technology that has a goal of changing the horizons of mobile Internet - VoIP calls.

A number of European companies are already testing the new VoIP service. This service has the potential to change the way users make calls in the future. For instance, Skype Technologies and mobile phone operator Hutchison 3 Group are collaborating to launch a commercial VoIP service. The mobile operator will provide Skype’s VoIP client for a wide range of smartphones (the ones that have Session Initiation Protocol capability and run the Microsoft Windows Mobile).

Jajah, a company launched by an Austrian Daniel Mattes, has already launched a VoIP service that allows users to make low-cost international calls. And the procedure of making a call is quite simple: one has to enter Jajah’s mobile Web portal through mobile device and enter the username and password.

Fring is another VoIP service provider. It allows the users to carry out call over call phone networks in the wat very similar to that on PC (over Wi-Fi or fixed-line broadband connections). Unlike Jajah, Fring requires the customers to download the needed application to their devices.

Fring is very similar to PC-based apps like Skype, Google Talk or MSN Messenger. The service enables VoIP service, instant messaging, real-time talk. Fringe allows a user to have a list of contacts and see whether their friends are online and available for communication.

These services are a good agruement for VoIP service, still quality is a great issue. Higher speed are on their way as practically all the major GSM network operators are upgrading their broadband networks with high-speed uplink packet access technology in order to make the speed of bidirectional data exchange shy-high.
