Text Messaging Service Helps you Quit Smoking

It’s been 3 days since smoking has been prohibited in all public places that are under-cover (clubs, bars, offices, vehicles, shops, restaurants e.t.c.) in England. For a non-smoker is it brilliant news! It means that if I decide to go out, I am sure to get home smelling the way I smelled when I left home, but not smelling of someone else’s tobacco smoke.

Lots of people on the island will find this new law quite hard to deal with. In order to help them, Manchester NHS (National Health Service) has introduced text messaging service.

It is simple to use: you have to text in a keyword (depending on where you got to know about the service - radio, poster e.t.c.) and then you get a call back with all the details of the service that is supposed to help you quit.

Still there is another great service. Steve Flaherty has developed the peculiar service Textotine. The service shows how much money the smoker has saved, how many days he/she has been smoke free, plus a great number of hints and tips.
