The Secret of Money Transfers via Text Messages

SMS money transfer is likely to become the major force in the mobile economy in the near future. The service is branded by the UK company Anam.
It works like this:
- If you want to send money, you (the sender) type in #Cash and the phone number of the recipient
- The message is sent to the contact in your address book
- The recipient receives a text message from Anam, asking to phone a number included in the text message
- You (the sender) key in a PIN number
- The recipient get a message saying that the money is sent
The market is expected to develop by huge players entering. Possible other markets include remittance activities for various partners, such as cell carriers or utilities.
Just one good example may show how useful the service might turn out to be: a parent wants to send money to his/her child’s account.
