The Wonderful World of SMS

Text_Messaging.jpg

Nowadays the word “SMS” is pronounce and heard hundreds of times every days. At the same time we exchange the text messages more seldom that pronounce their name. Because now SMS seems to have become a means of getting money (for TV-programs, radio and content-providers).

“Send SMS to the number… and you’ll be given all you want!”

I’m always wondering if anyone ever writes to them!

But the statistics is a stubborn thing and it says that they write!

The Canadians counted that every day the people inside the contry send 26.5 million text messages. At the same time only 60% of the population own mobile devices.

By the way, in Canada you can get useful info besides downloading ringtones, images and games via SMS. For example, the weather and the rate of currency exchange.

Moreover, sms-flirt is gaining its popularity. The major difference between such kind of entertainment from PC-charts is that you can do it wherever you are – the phone is always on you.

So, if some of you suppose that SMS will soon die out, you make a great mistake. People has written letters for as long as they exist, and SMS is just a new way of writing letters.

Another proof of the fact that text messaging in not dying out, is the great number of sms-based services that are emerging everywhere. There appeared a new service Lypp which aims to solve the problem of the high costs of the mobile connection. The service offers to replace phone calls by instant messages. In substance, Lypp is just another Internet-pager which works on any mobile device built on BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian OS platforms or even Java-enabled devices.

At first sight the service might seem strange, but it is very easy to use. All you have to do is add so-called “Lypp buddy” to your contact list. The user can work in any pager (the service supports AIM, GTalk, Jabber, iChat, MSN and Yahoo!). You just tell you Lypp buddy who you want to send a message to and… it is done! Simple and great.

Reliability of Connection - That is Important
